BOARD OFFICERS

Bryan Moeller, Chairman of the Board
Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo

Bryan Moeller is senior vice president and director of Small Business Banking for Wells Fargo’s Los Angeles Metro Community Bank. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he was a regional sales manager and Director for financial services giant, First Data Corporation. Moeller is active in the non-profit community and currently serves as treasurer and board member for Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles/Camp Max Strauss, board member of Jewish Family Services, board and executive committee member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, Moeller was appointed to the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Business Policy (OEBP) Small Business Advisory Committee, which was formed to assist the needs of small business owners in the City of Los Angeles.

Moeller has attended college in the U.S. as well as studied abroad in France and Germany. Moeller is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.  He is fluent in French, German and Italian and has a deep passion for serving the community and the underprivileged.

 

Dave Barge, Secretary of the Board

Dave Barge has served in the recovery/treatment community in several different capacities during his 36 plus years of sobriety. He has been on the Board of several transitional living homes including the House of Hope in San Pedro, Ca since 1975, Serenity House in Lomita, CA and is currently on the board of the House of Miracles in Redondo Beach. Working with the National Council of Alcoholism since 1980 (which supports many 12 step houses), Dave has a deep knowledge of what it takes to help people in recovery. He has worked in several hospital setting including Gardena Memorial Hospital, South Bay Hospital and Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He is also a founding member of “Wayback Inn” detox center. He is the founder and current CEO of the South Bay Roundup convention for AA and Al-Anon, the largest annual convention of its kind in the world.


 
Beck Bailey, Board Treasurer
Co-Owner, Finding Balance, LLC: Bookkeeping & Business Consulting Services

Beck Bailey is a self-employed business consultant. She has held management positions in several different businesses since 1986.  She graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a BS in Management in 1986.  Beck has been involved in several charities over the years including Aids Project Los Angeles, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Aids Walk LA & SF.  She is a passionate SCUBA diver and teaches diving part-time. Since the opening of Miriam’s House in 2007, Beck has volunteered her time and resources to help create an outstanding recovery home.

Victor Assad attended U.S.C. where he received a Business Degree in Marketing. He has a family background in oil and agriculture. He is involved in several different entities. Most recently, he acted as CEO of Six Guns Entertainment. He sits on the board of Directors of the Reach Foundation as well as Planet Hope.

 

Ann Behringer, LCSW
Private Practice

Ann Behringer has worked in the field of substance abuse for 25 years. Beginning as a peer counselor in the Chemical Dependency unit at Charter Pacific Hospital in 1984, Ann went on to co-found Promises Residential Treatment Centers in West Los Angeles. Ann was a faculty member and taught for 8 years at UCLA’s Extension Program in the Counseling for Alcohol and Drug Addiction Certificate Program. She co-created the Women’s Association for Addiction Treatment (WAAT) in 2001 where she served as President until 2007. WAAT is a non-profit organization that provides networking opportunities for professional women in the field of addiction. For the past 15 years, Ann has maintained a private practice treating individuals and couples dealing with substance abuse and related issues

 

Patricia Meyers
Clinical Admissions Director, Promises Treatment Center

Patricia Meyers began her career with Promises Treatment Centers in 1996 as a Resident Technician. Within three months, Patricia was promoted to Resident Technician Supervisor and then went on to serve as the Admissions Coordinator.

In 2001, Patricia left Promises to pursue her interest in Crisis Intervention and Recovery Coaching. Now with five years experience in the field as an Independent Interventionist and Recovery Coach, Patricia has reunited with the Promises Team as their Director of Admissions. Her renewed passion and enthusiasm for facilitating clients and their families in making life altering changes is the kind of strength that the recovery community needs and benefits from. Patricia is also a certified CCDC and is trained in Family Crisis Intervention, Relapse Prevention and the Reintegration Process of clients returning to their communities.

 

Chris Shumow
Founder, Visions Adolescent Treatment Center

Chris Shumow is a Founder of Visions Adolescent Treatment Center and has worked in the field of substance abuse rehabilitation for nearly a decade. Prior to Visions, he was the Director of Operations for an adult substance abuse treatment center, where he laid the foundation and obtained his skills and knowledge in the field of recovery. With his extensive experience and expertise with substance abuse treatment, Chris envisioned creating a full continuum of care for adolescents and their families. With over ten years of his own personal recovery experience, Chris has an innate understanding of substance abuse issues and the means necessary to achieve successful healing. Chris is also on the board of Angels At Risk, a non-profit organization to help teens and their families in the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse. Chris has been actively involved with Angels At Risk for over seven years. Chris has proven to not only be an inspiration and role model for both adolescents and their families, but also in the recovering community and beyond.

 

Jill Thesman
Interior Designer and Student of Oriental Healing Arts and Medicine

Jill Thesman has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Colorado.  For ten years she was head of Investor Relations for two biotechnology companies.  She is presently married to Ernest Thesman, a real estate developer, and assists his company as an interior designer and art consultant.  Jill is actively involved in alternative health modalities and Eastern spirituality, mythology and art.
