Miriam's House Women and
Children's Sober Living
The Promises Foundation opened the doors of our women and children's sober living home on January 2nd, 2007. This 15 bedroom facility serves the imperative need for facilities that provide support services and allow children to stay in residence. The program is highly subsidized by the foundation in order to remain accessible for any family receiving state assistance. Mothers must have thirty days of sobriety and one or two children age ten or younger to be eligible.

Women participate in a one-year, four-phase process that leads them from their initial sobriety and stabilization through parenting and occupational training. Throughout their stay each woman makes a commitment to establish and attain goals, attend regular AA meetings and other seminars, and in the secondary phases begin working. Ultimately success for these women is defined by graduating with secured employment and long term housing along with the personal and recovery skills to live quality, sober lives.
